Tourist Trophy

I am going to speak to you about a subject which tempted me of going to Ireland, enthusiast of motorcycle I came in Ireland by hoping to be able to see a race of the championship Tourist Trophy which is an Irish race with one final on The island of Man, unfortunately with the timetable and the examinations I did not more go there. 

So if you have the opportunity of it going to GO !

Tourist Trophy is a very spectacular race with an average in race of 200 kmh which makes the tour of the island of man.

This advertising poster for Guinness is surprising because we cannot see it in France for a reason of legislation because it is forbidden in France to have on a publicity for some alcohol of the characters.

The publicity here is a publicity for the beer Guinness which we can see lower right of the poster. The target it is the spectators of rugby matches because it is a publicity to support the team of Ireland.

Today the alcohol being of democratized advantage I thinks that it would be popular however as says previously she(it) would be forbidden by the law.

Irish national symbols

The clover in three leaves. The clover in three leaves represents the Holy Trinity and was used by Saint Patric to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irishmen not knowing the Catholicism. It is for it that the clover to three leaves is associated in the Irish national holiday: the holiday of Holy Patric.

External regional conflicts and tensions

The Irish war for independence, war Anglo-Irish or Tan War indicates the campaign of guerrilla warfare which led the IRA against the RIC, the British army and the Black and Tan in Ireland, from January, 1919 till July, 1921.

The conflict began after the declaration of independence of the Republic of Ireland. Both camps accepted a cease-fire in July, 1921 which ends in the Anglo-Irish Treaty of December, 1921. This agreement ended the British domination on the largest part of Ireland and after a period of transition of ten months overseen by a Provisional Government, the Free State of Ireland was established.

However, six counties in the North chose to stay within the United Kingdom as Northern Ireland with their own parliament. After the cease-fire, the political violence and the nun between the republicans and the loyal supporters, and between the Catholics and the Protestants continued in Northern Ireland whereas the Free State of Ireland dived into a civil war between the partisans and the opponents of the Anglo-Irish Treaty.

Politics in Ireland

Politically, the island is divided between Ireland (a sovereign State also called the Republic of Ireland) and the Northern Ireland ( constituent country). They share an open border and both are a part of the zone Travel common.

Ireland and the United Kingdom are members of the European Union, and as a consequence(accordingly), it is free circulation of the people, the properties, the services and the capital through the border.

The Government

Ireland is a parliamentary democracy. The Prime Minister is the head of government, he is a conscript Taoiseach in Irish, his deputy Prime Minister is as for him a conscript Tánaiste. Taoiseach and Secretaries (among 15) compose the government and detain executive power, according to the Irish constitution.

The Parliament

The Parliament, Oireachtas in Irish, consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives count 166 members called Teachta í Dála, elected in the transferable unique vote, of proportional type.

The President of Ireland

The President of Ireland, directly elected by the people, is the head of state and has mainly an honorary function. He is elected for a seven-year term, renewable once The current President, elected in 2011, is Michael D Higgins.

The Local Government

There are in Ireland 114 local authorities. They have the competence in numerous domains such as the accommodation the transport, supply him with water, the waste management, the education, the health and the social services.

 My School

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) formerly Regional Technical College, Dundalk is a 90-acre (360,000 m2) campus situated in Dundalk,County Louth, Ireland.

The institution was one of the original networks of Regional Technical Colleges set up in the 1970s with an emphasis on business, engineering and science. Over the past decade and a half, the Institute has expanded its range of programmes to include hospitality, humanities, music, creative arts and nursing. Apprenticeship courses have long been a feature of the Institute, there has been continual expansion in the Apprenticeship provisioning the electrical and plumbing fields.

I arrived January 22, 2014 has Dundalk, integration occurred over 2 days with the presentation of the building, associations, papers to fill and complete the integration half-day with Irish dance.

I study in this university 6 different subjects, English, Statistics, Accounting Management, Active Market Research, SME Marketing and Conflict Management in Workplace.

The culture is really different in class for several reasons, first of all there is no break between the courses, or of schedule specifies to eat, the professors are often late. For the rest it is similar to the French system.

There is a very dynamic student life for the sport with a possibility of making multiple sports free of charge or at a low cost, I thus have pus to try the fencing and the archery. A lot of parties are organized for ERASMUS to facilitate the integration, and a lot of events are present within the school or outside.
